Dr. Kushner's Personality Type Diet, authored by Dr. Robert Kushner, and his wife Nancy. Dr Kushner is a well-regarded expert in the weight loss field, often consulted by various health authorities.
In his counseling practice he specializes in treating people who are overweight and dealing with overeating disorders.

Dr Kushner believes that our personality has a major impact on our attitudes towards food and exercise. This will come as no surprise to most of us! Every week another new fad or eating plan comes out, claiming weight loss miracles. Unfortunately during the quest to be healthy, most of us 'fall off the rails' for some reason or another.
Maybe then, we could finally live a lifestyle that will result in sustained weight loss - and lifelong weight management.
The Personality Type Diet begins with a 70 question survey - designed to root out all of our fears, feelings, and attitudes - not just about food, but exercise, and other life skills. The outcome of this questionnaire will give you 3 different personality types: Eating personality, exercise personality, and coping personality.

Diet and Meal Plans
Your personality type will then form the basis of an entire eating plan - beginning right from when you subscribe. (Note that you can redo the survey at any time). The meal plans are good... quite do-able - they even include some fast food options as well.
Sample Meal Plan - Remember this diet is completely tailored to your personality type AND other factors like weight and age. This sample is not necessarily how many calories you might consume - but gives you an example of the kind of food (and recipes) available.
The online program has a very strong emphasis on community, weight loss buddies, and support groups. You can quickly search for a weight loss buddy, based on your own criteria, or someone who has a similar personality. You can start or join a support group (where you live) - you can even become a weight loss "cheerleader"!
There are numerous resources available - all customized to your personality type such as Customized Meal Plans, Fitness Plans, Online Coaching by Dietitians, and Emotional Coping Strategies as well as a complete workout builder (drag and drop different exercises to generate a great video playlist). Also has a large original video library (recipes, workouts, etc).
The Personality Type Diet is excellent and highly recommended . It is free of any faddish ideas, and makes a serious attempt to assist you in gaining complete control over your weight. We all know we have to eat right and exercise, so why can't we just do it? Increasing research supports the premise that diets alone do not work. Factors like self-esteem, self-acceptance, and behavior change bring about permanent results (source).
The only drawback is that the tons of information on the site can be a little overwhelming. There are many things to look at and do, and it's hard to know where to start (you'll need to set aside some time).
